Terms of Service

Draft — pending review. Written by the organizing team, not by a lawyer. Read it through and correct anything that misstates how MMRC 26 actually runs before the competition opens publicly.

These terms cover the MMRC 26 website at mmrchtu.tech and entry to the Maze Solver Robot Competition 2026, run by the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, HTU Student Chapter ("we", "us"). Registering a team means the person registering has read these terms and accepts them on behalf of every member of that team.

Who can enter

MMRC 26 is open to university students. A team is one to three people, and each member must be able to show valid student identification if we ask. One person registers on behalf of the team and becomes our point of contact — we send everything to that address, so it needs to be one somebody reads.

You may not enter the same people under two team names, and you may not register a team without the knowledge of the people named in it.

Registration and your place in the competition

Registering is not the same as having a place. A registration is complete when the fee has been paid and we have verified it. Until then your team is recorded but not confirmed.

We may close registration at any time, including before an advertised deadline, if the competition fills. If we cannot give your team a place after you have paid, we refund you in full — see the Payment & Refund Policy.

The information you give us has to be accurate. If we find that a team misrepresented its members, their student status, or their IEEE membership in order to pay a lower fee, we may ask for the difference or withdraw the team.

The competition itself

The rules of the competition — the maze, the robot specification, the run format, scoring, and disqualification — live in the rulebook and form part of these terms. We may amend the rulebook before competition day; material changes will be emailed to registered teams.

Your robot must be present and pass inspection on competition day. A team that does not appear forfeits its place, and the fee is not refunded.

Judging decisions are final.

Your robot and your work

Your robot and its code remain yours. We claim no ownership over anything you build.

By entering, you allow us to photograph and film the event, including your team and your robot, and to use those images to publicise MMRC and the chapter. If you would prefer not to appear, tell us in writing before competition day and we will do our best to accommodate it — though we cannot promise you will be absent from every wide shot of a competition hall.

Using this website

Use the site for what it is for. Do not attempt to break into the administration area, submit automated registrations, upload anything that is not what it claims to be, or interfere with other people's use of the site.

We may remove content and refuse service to anyone who does.

What we do not promise

We run this competition as a student chapter, on a volunteer basis. The site is provided as it is. We try to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, that every date on it is final, or that it is free of errors.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Changing these terms

We may update these terms. If we change something that materially affects registered teams, we will email the address each team registered with. The version in force for your registration is the one recorded at the moment you accepted it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the courts of Amman have jurisdiction over any dispute.
